10 Reasons Why Andrew W.K. Is The Greatest Human Being Of All Time

10. He€™s Broken Bones On More Than One Occasion While Performing Live

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHDCRsqQmKQ Andrew W.K. is committed to his art. Like, REALLY committed. If you don€™t believe us, take a look at the front cover of his debut album, I Get Wet. See that bloody nose he€™s got? That€™s real blood, some from a dead animal, and the rest his own, after he smashed himself in the face with a brick. Dave Grohl called the resulting photo €œthe sexiest thing you€™ve ever seen in your life,€ and he€™s probably right. Sometimes though his injuries are less calculated, and more a result of his boundless enthusiasm and energy. In 2002, Andrew W.K. appeared on the New Zealand music show SPACE, giving a solo performance of Party Hard. During this extremely loose interpretation of his biggest hit, he thrashed about and repeatedly punched the piano with his fist. The result? He broke his hand, much to the concern of presenter Jaquie Brown. Then in 2003, while on tour in support of his second album The Wolf, W.K. got tangled up in his own microphone cable during a gig in Los Angeles, and felt something snap. Despite being in pain, he completed the show, and then made the ambulance wait outside the venue while he signed autographs. Hours after sustaining the injury he finally got medical attention, and it was only then he discovered that he had broken his right foot. Most artists, especially one so reliant on being as mobile as possible on stage, would cancel the following few tour dates in order to recover. Not our Andrew though. He simply found a wheelchair and performed the rest of the tour from it. The best thing was, he didn€™t even let the chair restrict his movement all that much, as this video shows.
