7. Their Solo Stuff Is Good, But It's No MCR

Thus far there's been a decent amount of solo material from the ex-members of MCR. Gerard released a great solo album, Hesitant Alien, which is a racous blend of Brit-Pop and fuzzy guitar. It€™s refreshingly un-MCR (there€™d be nothing more disappointing than hearing a lukewarm, watered down version of the band€™s music) and has seen moderate critical success. Frank has released Stomachaches under FrnkIero AndThe Cellabration, an album much nearer to his other solo stuff (think screaming €“ lot€™s of screaming) than MCR€™s newer, more tuneful sound. Mikey €“ Gerard€™s brother €“ is part of Electric Century, an electronic rock duo that have released several singles and an EP. And Ray is hard at work on his debut solo record, having finished most of the recording and released a few dreamy teasers. As it stands, the boys have had a few years recording and performing solo material. And though it€™s good (some of it even great - Frank's video for Joyriding is particularly worth watching) it€™s just not the same as what a new MCR album might have been.
