3. Sam Fender - Waiting For Love (Original: Avicii)

Sam Fender might be physically incapable of putting out a bad cover. Taking heavy inspirational cues from Bruce Springsteen, it was covers of his songs that made waves at first, keeping the spirit of Springsteen's music alive and kicking. However, as he started to cover a more diverse range of music, his ability to make his mark on songs outside of his wheelhouse really came to fruition, most notably with this powerhouse of a number.

In his rendition of Avicii's Waiting For Love, Fender starts at a slower pace, letting the lyrics hang around in a trance-like state while, slowly but surely, ranching up the tempo. This all culminates so smoothly to an explosive crescendo with a show-stopping guitar solo (quite literally as it's at the very end). With this, Fender was able to produce something that sounds so different but still pays perfect tribute to the original.

Since its premiere at a radio station in the Netherlands, this rendition proved to have some legs as well. After playing it a few times live, Fender then performed it during a Spotify Singles session, who released it to garner almost 10 million streams, and rightly so.
