10 Rock Albums That Were A Nightmare To Make
4. Draw the Line - Aerosmith
Aerosmith had absolutely no problem living up to their reputation as the Bad Boys From Boston. Every single record that they put out during their glory years always had one foot trailing back into the seedier side of rock and roll, from the odes to sex like Walk This Way to the balls to the walls intensity of pretty much anything on Rocks. The life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll does eventually catch up with you though, and Draw the Line is where everything started to go drastically wrong.
In an attempt to get them away from their normal dealers, the band's management had the idea of putting them up in an abandoned asylum called the Cenacle, where they spent most of their time going further down the rabbit hole of drugs. Before they even jammed as a band, Joe Perry spent the first few days getting strung out in his bedroom, along with putting together a pistol range in the attic.
The rest of the band weren't much better either, leading to the songs sounding a lot more hazy on Bright Light Fright as well as some of the darkest songs that the band would ever create like Kings and Queens. The sessions may have dragged on for ages, but it's a miracle that the band actually wrapped up production when they did. Because when you have strung out musicians, a pile of drugs, and guns going off, it would only be a matter of time before someone ended up in a body bag.
