10 Rock Albums That Were Ruined By One Song

7. Digsy's Dinner - Oasis

You don't need someone like me to tell you that Oasis really had a bit of a fascination with the Beatles. If you were to take half of their discography and listen to it out of context, you would think that these guys worship at the alter of Lennon and McCartney, taking all of the '60s charm of their early work and turning it into hard hitting rock and roll. Definitely Maybe was what blew it all wide open, but even Noel Gallagher can attest to the fact that Digsy's Dinner is the low point.

Recorded as a piss take during one of the sessions, this feels like a call back to the more old fashioned tracks that Paul McCartney would write on something like Good Day Sunshine or When I'm 64, almost having a slightly music hall feel to the whole thing. That would make sense coming from a band inspired by the Beatles, but hearing the whimsical piano solo right after rockers like Bring It On Down and Cigarettes and Alcohol makes for a pretty jarring twist when listening from start to finish.

It's even stranger when you get to Slide Away, a song which many consider to be the band's best and acting like those last few minutes about eating lasagna never even happened. Married With Children might be considered the real throwaway track of the project because of how amateur the thing sounds, but Digsy's Dinner just feels like a decent song being put in the wrong place.
