10 Rock Artists With Multiple Classics Under Their Belt

7. Linkin Park

It's safe to say that most metalheads have started to wash their hands of the nu metal genre in recent years. Even if that outlet for adolescent angst may have been perfect back when you were in your teens, the likes of Papa Roach and Limp Bizkit tend to be a bit more cringy once we actually made it to adulthood. Linkin Park were always more than just nu metal, and their two stone cold classics don't even include Hybrid Theory.

While their debut has certainly earned its Diamond certified accolades, Meteora was where everything was absolutely perfect, tapping into something that was equal parts emotionally vulnerable and incredibly hard hitting at the exact same time, going from songs like Hit the Floor and Faint and transitioning perfectly into something like Easier to Run and Breaking the Habit. The nu metal tag was starting to get a little stale by the 2010's, and Linkin Park did what no one else had the guts to do: take a risk.

Looking to shed their skin and move into new territory, A Thousand Suns is one of the most ambitious projects they have ever made, painting the picture of nuclear fallout and creating a compelling story from front to back, starting with the sounds of someone behind a crisis and letting it build to different peaks like on Waiting for the End and The Catalyst. Hybrid Theory may mean that none of them have to work again, but Linkin Park were in it for the long haul and were willing to make something that would last much longer than they will.
