Since their formation back in 1995, Slipknot have not been a band that have shied away from a reshuffle in personal; the iconic Iowa heavy metal outfit have fielded 16 different members over their 7 unique studio albums and 16 live tours. Arguably no departure hit the Maggots harder than the firing of drummer Joey Jordison in 2013.

Living and breathing everything Slipknot since arriving at rehearsals in the mid '90s, Joey was the fuel behind the band's crazy-paced, aggressive style that has since become so iconic. His infectious energy behind the kit and memorable moments on stage has helped make him a real favourite with metal heads right across the community.

Maggots all around the world were shocked when they woke up to the news that Joey had left the band in December 2013. Work had just begun on a fourth studio album, however it was revealed that Joey had not contributed anything to the release and would not be appearing on it.

The band have gone on to recover from Joey's absence however, releasing 2 albums since his departure with another more experimental record set to be released soon. They remain arguably the most influential heavy metal band in North America and still continue to pack out their live shows with passionate fans from all around the world.
