10 Rock Bands Who Broke World Records

9. The Rolling Stones - Wealthiest Band

From a band with a song called Money to a band with loads of money, it's everyone's favourite crazy grandpas, The Rolling Stones.

Releasing their first album way back in 1964, The Stones have been a fixture of popular music ever since, shifting from rock 'n' roll to blues to psychedelia and back again, with no shortage of controversies and alleged ash-snorting along the way.

Across their unparalleled career, the band have released dozens of acclaimed albums and singles, appeared in films and on television, and played live to millions of people all over the world. So, it should come as no surprise that the individual members of the group are absolutely rolling in it.

In 2010, lead singer Mick Jagger was valued at $313 million, whilst guitarist Keith Richards was worth $289 million. According to Guinness, this meant that the Stones were "comprised of the richest members of any music group", officially awarding them the title of "Wealthiest Band".

Since then, Jagger and Richards' pension pot has continued to grow, and with a new album in 2023, don't expect that to change any time soon.
