There's a good case to be made that the Beatles revolutionized rock and roll on a couple different occasions over the course of the '60s. Coming together one more time with producer George Martin, Abbey Road is the peak of all the band's talents, with John Lennon and Paul McCartney writing their own masterpieces like Come Together and Oh Darling to eventually stringing together their table scraps into a mini opera on the final side of the record. The Let It Be project may have been released as the band's true swan song, but Abbey Road is the record that the classic era of the band should have gone out on.
