10 Rock Cover Songs Better Than The Original

8. "Runaway" By Kanye West, Pusha T – Covered By Silverstein

It is always a good time when a band covers a song way outside of their genre, especially when it is the Ontario based Silverstein, named after children’s author, Shel Silverstein.

This Canadian based pop punk band took on the task of covering “Runaway” for the Punk Goes Pop 4 album and took this hip-hop ballad about being a dirt bag and mashed it into a rock/hip hop song that is even more powerful and enjoyable than the original.

By adding in harder guitar a punk lyrical sound, Silverstein gives the song an edgier and more passionate sound, while still retaining the original sound and flow of the song.
