10 Rock & Metal Bands Who Fired Their Singer

2. Escape The Fate - Ronnie Radke

After nearly two decades on the scene, post-hardcore group Escape The Fate are still going strong, with some seven albums under their belts and a modest smattering of popular singles among them. Unfortunately, the band are (still!) perhaps best known for the sticky situation that parted them with their singer in the late noughties.

Few musicians have found themselves caught in the middle of a murder trial, but that's precisely where Escape The Fate's singer Ronnie Radke was back in 2007. After being involved in a street fight that ended in murder, he narrowly avoided jailtime -- until he violated his parole in 2008, and was handed a two and a half year sentence.

Branding him a liability -- and presumably unwilling to wait two and a half years to go on tour again -- Escape The Fate fired Radke and brought in Craig Mabbitt (of Blessthefall fame) to replace him. Their sound changed quite significantly in the aftermath, tacking more towards straightforward pop punk compositions.

When Radke got out of prison in 2010, he picked up where he left off by creating Falling In Reverse, a band that was Ronnie Radke's Escape the Fate in all but name, and has grown in recent years to become a unique fusion of metalcore and hip-hop.
