10 Rock Musicians With Surprising Day Jobs
5. Terry Chimes (The Clash) – Chiropractor
Imagine getting your back delicately realigned by a guy who used to pound the hell out of the drums for some of the biggest acts in rock. If you live somewhere in the southeast of England then this might just be an option for you.
Terry Chimes was a founding member of The Clash, recording several albums and joining them on tour at different stages over the years. In 2003 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his early contribution to the bands genre defining sound.
During his music career he also played drums for the likes of Black Sabbath and Billy Idol. Not a bad resumé... , but these credentials don't immediately lead you to the conclusion that this is the guy you want manipulating your joints when you've got a bit of an ache.
But it seemed the rock star lifestyle didn't fit with his sensibilities. Since 1994 he faded from the public eye and has since then has become a practising chiropractor.
He hasn't given up music entirely, however, continuing to play in the Swedish/British band The Crunch.
