10 Sci-Fi Hard Rock Albums You Need To Hear

1. Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Vol.1 - Coheed & Cambria

To be honest, you could put the vast majority of Coheed's work here, and it would fit better than almost anyone else.

Led creatively by mastermind, frontman and often lead guitarist Claudio Sanchez, Coheed & Cambria's name ties directly into a series of graphic novels known as "The Amory Wars". Describing everything from warring interstellar governments to the struggles of one Claudio Kilgannon and his parents Coheed & Cambria, Coheed (the band) deftly assemble an entire world of characters, motivations, deities and everything in between.

Because of all this, you can pretty much cite any of the first three Coheed albums as instrumental in establishing this fiction to the masses - not to mention the STELLAR return and continuation of it from 2018, Unheavenly Creatures, or The Afterman collection, from 2012.

Coheed & Cambria rose to success with sledgehammer heavy riffs like Welcome Home or singalong choruses like A Favor House Atlantic or The Suffering, but there's a whole cosmos of storytelling to back it up.

One I heartily recommend.
