Before Bullet became a total laughing stock with last year's Temper Temper - writing songs that were poppier than the Irish countryside - they still had moments (well, a couple) of pure ferocity on previous album Fever. It marks the turning point for the band, with lead singer-songwriter Matt Tuck wanting to take them to even greater heights, but through riding a wave of accessibility and syrup-soaked ballads, rather than just sticking to their guns and amassing a fanbase in the only way that works. Begging For Mercy remains the most 'old-Bullet' sounding piece on the album, and thanks to a stupidly fun set of vampiric/power fantasy-themed lyrics and a string-bendingly fun solo that ties everything together nicely, it's become the last truly awesome thing the band have put out since 2010.
