10 Songs That Have More Than One Music Video
1. Relax - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
In 1983, Frankie Goes to Hollywood unleashed one of the all-time great debut singles into the world - Relax.
Bombastic, exciting, and loaded with gay subtext, Relax shook the world of pop music to its very core when it burst onto the scene.
The same can be said of its music video, which was filmed inside an S&M style gay nightclub. Naturally, the sight of men in tight leather and togas was all too much for the conservative public of the early '80s, and the video was banned by both MTV and the BBC.
To get around this, the band recorded another video and released that the following year. However, because the entire song had now been banned by the BBC, no version of the video was ever shown on the UK's largest public broadcaster.
Then there's the live version of the song, which had a video helmed by famed director David Mallet. Plus, there's another version where the band go to a porno shoot.
All of this is brilliant; a real symbol of the "shove it" attitude that made Frankie Goes to Hollywood such a great band to follow.
Amazing song, amazing video, whichever version you go with.
