10 Songs That Prove Ringo Star’s Solo Career Is Better Than You Think

6. Snookeroo

Snookeroo sounds like exactly what is, a classic, piano driven, 1970s, Elton John rocker. Yes it’s Ringo on vocals but Elton is right there on piano and he wrote it too along with his regular lyricist Bernie Taupin.

Nor do they seem to have made much effort to tailor the song to its performer. Snookeroo could fit comfortably on John’s own Greatest Hits collection released the same year.

If you want you can certainly see a bit of Ringo in the lyric about a working class Northern lad but ultimately how much you enjoy Snookeroo will entirely depend on how much you enjoy Elton John records.

Of course Elton John was on a bit of a creative tear in the early to mid Seventies so most right-thinking people will enjoy this one very much indeed.
