7. The Killers Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlOqXcPkUis When most people think of The Killers they think of light-hearted pop and alt rock tunes, but in 2004 the band released a song that lives up to their name. In fact, it's the first song to appear on the band's first album Hot Fuss, which was released in 2004. The Jenny in question is eighteen year old Jennifer Levin, who was murdered in New York City in 1986 by Robert Chambers. Levin was found strangled and half-naked by a cyclist in Central Park, covered in various cuts and bruises. Interestingly the song is merely one a trilogy of songs by the band that deal with Jenny's murder, the others being Midnight Show and Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf. These songs are occasionally referred to as The Killers' Murder Trilogy.
