10 Most Spectacularly Embarrassing Mistakes In Music

1.Twit's Tweets Brutalised By Boyle

Boyle Arthur Is there anything more cringe-inducing to watch than the sight of somebody who is hopelessly out of their depth soldiering on, only to heap more and more humiliation upon their own heads? It becomes even more humiliating when they are oblivious to their inevitable defeat, to the extent that somebody has to save them from themselves before they explode in a mess of mortification and colon. This is the situation that X Factor dimwit James Arthur found himself in this very November. The Moomin-faced pop product had found himself in hot water following a rap battle with MC Worthless - it was no Biggie and Tupac - which Arthur had used a derogatory term rife with homophobic intent. It had been a busy month already for the pebble-headed popster, who displayed a frightening lack of awareness for his position in music's hierarchy by dismissing priapic scamps One Direction as being reality fodder. Now he further alienated sections of his fan base and celebrities such as Matt Lucas, who took immense offence. The scene was set for a backlash, and so enter stage left the king of the barbed retort, Frankie Boyle. Pop stars have a poor track record in holding their own against professional comedians; Punk cartoon Donny Tourette's being ripped to shreds by Bill Bailey and Simon Amstell on Never Mind The Buzzcocks springs to mind. When you're as mud-brained as Arthur evidently is, it becomes unseemly. Insults ricocheted back and forth, with one Boyle gem describing him as a "Child's drawing of a monster". Hopelessly out of his depth, Arthur expressed his sympathy for Boyle's children to which the Scot fantastically retorted, "I feel sorry for them too, because they'll have to watch you in panto next year." Game, set and match. Like a child being rescued from his playground tormentors, Arthur's PR quickly took over his Twitter account, though not before their charge had made himself the most embarrassing man in music. I am a freelance writer, currently residing in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I was raised by wolves in the woodlands of Northumberland, but am still posher than Colin Firth having dinner with The Queen. I write all of my pieces by swallowing a cocktail of scrabble tiles and vodka, then regurgitating them over my jotter. Hope this explains the typos.
