10 Terrible Songs That Ruined Otherwise Flawless Albums

7. Madvillain €“ Hardcore Hustle (Madvillainy)

https://youtu.be/EjJmf6ukHG4 This second and only other feature verse on the landmark DOOM + Madlib collaboration sticks out like a sore thumb. Rather than possibly mirror DOOM€™s sleepy delivery, which remains fairly consistent through the entire album, Wildchild takes his energy too far on a song that does not require it in the slightest. The song is fine in the way of standard rap braggadocio, but it is Wildchild fanning the flames of DOOM's ego as opposed to his own. There is a discomfort in someone boasting about another person rather than themselves. The song may have worked on another album as some sort of interlude (Madlib's instrumental is smooth as always), but on Madvillainy it ultimately proves as out of place on the work as the sexual grunting that ushers out this lone blemish.
