8. Explaining To People They Never Wrote A Song About Zelda
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpJMzS_Gbd8 That System Of A Down penned a song about Nintendos video game series The Legend Of Zelda is a misconception that began in the early 2000s, most likely due to the huge popularity of file sharing services like Napster and Limewire. There exists countless videos of the song on YouTube with views amounting well into the millions. The song details Links battle against Ganon and his effort to save Princess Zelda. It's a catchy enough song, and a humorous tribute to a great video game series... the only problem is, System never wrote it. In reality, the song was written and performed by a man named Joe Pleiman, released on his 1998 album Rabbit Joint. Though its immediately obvious for fans of the band that its not Serj singing, its not surprising the casual listener might be fooled, especially when it would have been labelled as System Of A Down on various peer-to-peer file sharing services.
