10 Things You Didn't Know About Amanda Palmer

9. And A Dominatrix

A foray into the world of human statues wasn't Amanda's only unusual job. Amanda worked for several months as a barista in an ice-cream parlor before she was able to sufficiently fund herself as a statue. During this time she kept her Bride costume hidden in the cafe's cellar and changed in the employee's bathroom. Her other jobs around this time included ranged from the mundane to the bizarre. Some of her more unusual positions included life model, stripper, and coat-check girl at illegal sex parties. The highest earning job she had at the time was as a dominatrix. However, Palmer has stated that although it made her the most money on paper - earning up to $300 an hour - being a Dominatrix didn't actually pay that well. This was largely because of the extensive amount of specialist equipment and clothing that she had to buy beforehand.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
