On 19th September, 2010, Mars was arrested in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine. Ouch. However, luck shined upon him as he was told his charges would be wiped from his criminal record if he paid a $2000 fine, did 200 hours of community service, attended a drug counselling session and stayed out of a trouble for a year. However, in a 2013 interview with GQ, for which he was on the cover, he said "I was a young man! I was in f****** Vegas. I didn't know what I was doing'. He stated that having a number one record went to his head and he was young and celebrating.
