8. Her Prism Album Was Deemed A 'Biohazard' In Australia
554049In 2013, Katy released 'Prism', which performed well all over the world, selling millions of copies. She released a deluxe version which was sold with seeds, specifically 'Swan River daisy seeds', so that fans could 'spread the light'.
In Australia however, where the album had reached number one, the Department of Agriculture in Australia deemed the album a biohazard, naming 'seeds of international origin as a biosecurity concern'. The record label claimed the versions in Australia were locally sourced, but the Department was still worried about import versions of the albums that fans may have bought.
Apparently, Australian fans found it cheaper to purchase the album from international stores. Only Katy Perry could have something this weird happen to her album!
