10 Things You Didn't Know About Meghan Trainor

8. She Never Thought She'd Be A Singer

While Trainor studied music throughout her youth, and performed at home and at school all the time, she'd sacked off the idea of becoming famous as a singer due to being a chubby girl. So she resigned herself to becoming a songwriter. Meghan moved to Nashville in order to move further into the music industry and wrote All About That Bass with songwriter and producer Kevin Kadish: but her attempts at selling it to singers including Beyonce and Adele were rejected. In a fit of despair, Meghan recorded the song herself, and performed it on the ukulele for Epic Records chairman L.A. Reid - with great success! All About That Bass was released in June, 2014 and its music video became a viral hit.
