And this is what Taylor€™s mom, Andrea, had in mind when she named her daughter. One reason Andrea liked the name €˜Taylor€™ was that it was the last name of singer-songwriter legend James Taylor. But Andrea also liked the name 'Taylor' because it was gender neutral. In a 2009 Rolling Stone interview, Taylor said, "My mom thought it was cool that if you got a business card that said 'Taylor' you wouldn't know if it was a guy or a girl." It€™s a unique, if practical, concern to take into consideration.
