Its a sad, sobering reality; women face obstacles to success in the workplace. They need to work harder to be taken seriously as managers. The need to work harder to be taken seriously, period. And this is what Taylors mom, Andrea, had in mind when she named her daughter. One reason Andrea liked the name Taylor was that it was the last name of singer-songwriter legend James Taylor. But Andrea also liked the name 'Taylor' because it was gender neutral. In a 2009 Rolling Stone interview, Taylor said, "My mom thought it was cool that if you got a business card that said 'Taylor' you wouldn't know if it was a guy or a girl." Its a unique, if practical, concern to take into consideration.
