10 Things You Didn't Know About The Black Keys

5. If You Call The Number In The Fever Promo...

Dan and Pat have a history of weirdness, and especially in regards to their promos and advertising material (let's not even go into Gold On The Ceiling's alternate baby video). The run-up to 2014's Turn Blue was no different. Firstly, the album was announced not by the band or their record label, but by Mike Tyson, who tweeted the album's title and a link to a series of pretty strange YouTube videos featuring a hypnotist who claims to be your messiah. Then, when the official video for lead single Fever was released, fans were presented with a mysterious telephone number. Calling the number played an odd, largely indecipherable answer phone message from "Rhode Island New Age artist Quartzazium", who requests a four album deal from the Keys' own record label Nonesuch. As it turned out, that was Carney prank calling the label.
