This song is one of the most uncomfortable songs you will ever have to listen too, and even more so when you realise it is serious. If you are feeling really brave and fancy clawing your eyes out as well as stuffing your ears with tinsel, you could pay attention to the video, which is sacharine and cringe-worthy. Performed by American Christian group Newsong, 'The Christmas Shoes' is basically about a small boy who wants to buy his dying mother shoes on Christmas Eve in case she "meets Jesus" that night. With lyrics such as "Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please/ It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size" this has to be one of the most bizarre Christmas songs ever. Why shoes? Surely, given the context, they aren't the smartest decision.
