10 Worst Final Albums In Rock

1. The Endless River - Pink Floyd

By the 2010's, no one was really expecting any new material out of Pink Floyd. After Roger Waters left the band back in the mid '80s, you could tell that the David Gilmour-led lineup of the band was not going to go the distance after the release of the Division Bell. However, that didn't stop the guitar god from boring us to tears regardless on the Endless River.

That's not to say that there aren't any good compositions on this album though. On the surface, Gilmour actually shows himself to be growing as a musician, with most of these leftovers delving into smooth jazz territory. While there's no question that this is the album that Gilmour wanted to make, it doesn't make it any fun to listen to. Compared to the heart and soul present in Waters' writing, most of these songs are nothing more than just instrumental ambience for the better part of an hour.

By the time we actually do get a few vocals from Gilmour, most of the Floyd audience had already left this album in the dust. While it's great that Gilmour honed his technique like this, it turns out that he forgot how to write songs along the way. The Division Bell might not have been the best final statement Floyd could have made, but it would have been a whole lot better than what we got here.
