10. Overkill Announce Their 18th Album, The Grinding Wheel
On Wednesday, veteran thrash metal icons Overkill confirmed that their 18th album was on the way.
On 10th February 2017, the New Jersey-based speed freaks will be dropping their 18th album, which has been curiously named The Grinding Wheel. It's not exactly a name that screams excitement, momentum and thrash, is it?
However, the music is (hopefully) set to make up for whatever grandeur the title may lack. The previously thought-to-be stand-alone single "Our Finest Hour" is all we have heard from The Grinding Wheel so far, but it is doubtlessly a thrasher that lives up to the genre's old-school, '80s heyday.
Mixing high-pitched vocals with blinding riffs, Overkill fans will have to wait three agonising months to finally find out if this is an exciting precedent or just the one good entry on an otherwise lacklustre record.
