1. The Gentlemen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHoWMDMk5MU They're suave frontman Nicholas Noble has not only a cool name, but a pocket-watch too. Taking to the stage in suits, The Gentlemen know how to play live music, a quality many so-called artists fall down on. They know how to interact with the audience, a sphere in which so many fail to get right. Their music is one of two things: It's either beautiful and uplifting; such as 'This Is Where': Or it's upbeat, feel-good and catchy. I managed to catch them supporting The Feeling in Sheffield this March and was blown away, with their album 'Departures' in my head ever since. 'Jump Into The Ocean' is the sort of song that you know the words to despite only having heard it through once. The artists describe their intentions as "To write poptastic songs that will persuade your hips to move from side to side in a dizzying and hypnotic fashion." Mission accomplished, guys. Along with this feel good tune, others worthy of mention are 'Words' and 'New York Girl'. The band list M83 and Everything as musicians they admire, and it's easy to see where their urban, vibrant melodies stem from. Any other artists you'd like to put forward for the rest of us to check out? Add them to the comments and let them know their music is worth talking about!

Hi I'm Beth, a 17 year old girl from the UK who is most often found sat in front of my computer in my room making no noise and pretending I don't exist*. I like coffee (black, two sugars), old books and I'm currently studying the art of procrastination.
On a more serious note, I'm currently studying for my A Levels, taking English Literature, English Language, History and Economics. I intend to study either English or Journalism at university.
*that's a Harry Potter reference. If you didn't get that, then shame on you.
