11 Songs You Are Embarrassed To Admit You Love

4. You Get What You Give - The New Radicals

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL7-CKirWZE You Get What You Give was way ahead of it€™s time. Not because it was innovative or too clever for its own good, neither of those points is true at all. It€™s ahead of its time because it was never destined to be liked in its own era. But fast forward more than ten years later and it all brings us back to memories of a point where we were as lame as this song, we just didn€™t know it then. You Get What You Give is one of those songs that will flood your brain with memories of trivial events that seemed so extraordinarily important at the time: high school crushes, that first summer job you took in between terms, or that momentous fight you had with your childhood friend for reasons you can€™t remember. And you€™ll smile to yourself because now that we€™re all grownups those problems from our youth are just plain adorable. We thought we were so cool back in the day, didn€™t we? There really isn€™t a reason to not like this You Get What You Give, other than the fact that it was annoying in its day, like a fly buzzing around a confined space. Harmless...but then you want to swat at it anyway. Now that we€™re mature, we can appreciate it for the nostalgic throwback that it is. Plus, we all get a chuckle when Gregg Alexander threatens to beat up Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love cause, let€™s face it, we€™ve all had that fantasy at some point.

Just like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse, Mickey Galie is the best friend a good time ever had.
