https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-48u_uWMHY Alright was released as a single from Kendrick Lamar's critically celebrated 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly. Lyrically, the song is about hope (featuring the repeated promise we gon' be alright), and it's reflected in the tonal transition of the video, which begins with sombre, inner-city violence but soon opens up to reveal a hidden liberation. Directed by Colin Tilley and The Little Homies, the entire video is shot in gorgeous black and white, and features the hilarious scene in which Kendrick and his friends are cruising down the street in a car, only for it to be revealed that it's actually being carried by policemen.
