12 Best Songs To Punch The Roof Of Your Car To

11. Queens of the Stone Age - Feel Good Hit Of The Summer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAXPUN2z2CE&feature=youtu.be Not that I want to associate driving with odes to substance abuse but... here goes. Queens of the Stone Age's mastermind Josh Homme has always been keen on repetition, to the extent that he's happily labelled QOTSA's music as "robot rock." Feel Good takes the format to extremes as the song's entire lyrical content is a list of recreational drugs repeated over and over. Uncharacteristically coy, Homme has refused to confirm that song endorses its contents, although he has admitted that it was primarily inspired by his three day millennium bender. It feels a bit odd then to report that Homme fired their hard-living, much respected bass player Nick Oliveri - who introduces this song with a typically righteous groove - four years later for "excessive partying." What did the poor guy do? Could there be some obscure narcotic not mentioned in this song that he managed track down and ingest? The mind boggles, but kudos if so. Time heals all wounds though, as some poor sap who's never had his heart broken once said, and the pair patched it up and recorded together again in 2012. Suggested punching pattern: Whilst those in the front may be tempted to prime themselves by drumming on the steering wheel/dashboard, our respondents cranked their pleasure levels by saving themselves for the "co-co-co-co-caine" outbursts. Another very simple but effective jam to get the party started.
