12 Great Things In Metal This Week (18th Dec)

6. Michael Fassbender Air-Guitars Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" On The Tonight Show

Sometimes when you write about it incessantly for a living it's difficult to forget that rock n' roll is meant to be little more than just fun: a group of people playing the music that they love to other people who are there to party the night away in the pit.

Bizarrely, a reminder of that fell into my lap this week as Hollywood star Michael Fassbender (probably best known for his X-Men, Prometheus, 12 Years a Slave and Shame), went onto Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show and laid out an honestly fantastic air guitar jam to Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train". It brought a smile to my usually jaded face and reminded me of the most basic principals of metal: the music and the fandom.

It's not big news by any stretch of the imagination and, objectively, it might not even belong on this list. But it had me smiling like a moron and made my day, so it can qualify.
