Though such a tradition may be long gone, the five-piece's melodic rock is bound to still incite mosh-pits across both Reading and Leeds this August. Comparisons often get made to Deaf Havana and Funeral for a Friend, and it's with no hyperbole that Young Guns can make a claim to be one of the country's finest hard rock bands in years. Second album 'Bones' saw the band achieve some chart success in the US, and the subsequent sellout tours also helped build their live show to one befitting even the best bands around. With a brand new record in the works , and a deal with Virgin EMI that should see them escalated to rock's big leagues, it's hard to see anything that should stop Young Guns now. Lead singer Gustav Wood's mountain-top melodies are only beaten by the impressive raw power behind his vocals, while his band-mates create a cascading wall of sound around him. Wherever they play, they better have good speakers, because Young Guns will likely blow them to smithereens.
