12 PERFECT Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

2. Appetite For Destruction - Guns N Roses

Though Van Halen may have set the world on fire in the late 70's with their glam rock masterpiece, the world of big hair and pop hooks seemed to reach its end by the late 80's. Bands were often just looking to get famous off the coattails of more talented acts, with songs that seemed like a caricature version of a hair metal band.

With all the fabricated rock failing to gain its footing, a gang of five street urchins from Los Angeles came out with a record that made California seem dangerous once again. Appetite for Destruction was one of the most ferocious albums to ever be released in the 80's, with just the right amount of hooks and grit to please both sides of the spectrum. The punk energy of these songs hit you like a sledgehammer, but the dynamic solos of Slash brought the songs a bit of classic rock street cred.

Even the so-called lowlights of the album like "My Michelle" or "Nightrain" are good enough to have been massive hits for any no-name glam act, but it was just another day for Guns N Roses. Grunge may have been around the corner, but Appetite for Destruction was what truly brought hard rock back to its down and dirty origins.
