2. 'What Makes You Beautiful' By One Direction Sampled 'Summer Nights' From Grease
It seems as if it’s now becoming common place that if you have a famous song in a famous musical, that song will be sampled eventually, as with previous entries in this list.
Here we have another example.
The opening tune of What Makes You Beautiful may sound familiar to many of you, though something about it may have seemed off. This is because it is based of a sample from the backing riff of Summer Nights by John Travolta and Oliver Newton John in the movie musical Grease. Though it has been changed somewhat to avoid legal issues.
There is no denying however that these tunes contain a large amount of similarities, even if it has not been revealed that this was the case during the composition of What Makes You Beautiful.
