12 Songs You Didn't Know Were Written About Famous People

10. Foo Fighters - I'll Stick Around

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_rTTsZZ9KE Written by: Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters; released in 1995. Who it's about: Hole front-woman Courtney Love. Foo Fighters, who are fronted by ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, released this track on their debut 1995 album, and it was considered by many to be a biting attack on Courtney Love, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, until this belief was confirmed in a 2009 interview with Grohl. The vitriol of the song is illustrated perfectly by an earlier comment made by Grohl, where he stated that an original intended motif for the song's music video would be a bloated, distorted body that would resemble Love. This idea was replaced by the spore-like forms that float around the band, but the intentions were already clear. Other particularly bitter jabs at the singer include lines such as "I'm the only one who sees your rehearsed insanity" and "I don't owe you anything."
