13 Best Songs You Can't Play On Spotify

7. Epitaph - King Crimson

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWtOz7GVxJM Not only a great track for King Crimson purists, Epipath is probably one of the greatest dystopian prog rock songs of all time. It's also the best use of the mellotron (made popular when The Beatles used it, but made infamous by prog rock bands). Sadly, Spotify users will be able to enjoy neither accolades, because the band don't even exist on the streaming system, making them one of the few major bands who aren't listed in any form. It's pretty clear why they aren't there: prog in particular doesn't exactly sit comfortably with the idea of random, quickly digestible tracks. Like a lot of the genre, In The Court Of The Crimson King is designed to be played in full and in the correct order, because there is a narrative logic to it that doesn't suit the culture of singles.
