4. Fleetwood Mac

The band, which had hits with Albatross early on and songs like Dream and Don't Stop with Stevie Nicks (who joined in 1974, well after Albatross), also had some further membership confusion in the mid 70s, when a "fake" Fleetwood Mac began touring featuring precisely zero members who were every officially with the band. "Fake" Mac came to be when the band's manager, Clifford Davis, claimed he owned the Fleetwood Mac name, and in essence assembled a scab band to tour in their place. "Members" were told that Bob Welch and John McVie had quit the group and that Mick Fleetwood would be joining them, but soon after the truth became apparent, and the plug was quickly pulled. Thankfully, things are a little more sane today.
