7. That The Majority Of Morrissey's Solo Stuff Is Actually Great
There's a tendency for lesser Smiths fans to write off all the stuff that Morrissey did when the Smiths ceased to exist as a matter of principle: surely Morrissey couldn't have written anything good without Johnny Marr to inspire him? But a true fan of The Smiths - and indeed of Mozza - will have likely approached Morrissey's solo career with an optimistic attitude. The truth is, of course, that the majority of his post-Smiths stuff is fantastic. Which true Smiths fan could really deny the brilliance of albums like "Vauxhall and I" or "Your Arsenal?" Of songs as memorable and replayable and wonderful as "Suedehead" or "Every Day Is Like Sunday?" Truth be told, Morrissey went about creating some of his best ever work in the wake of the band's disintegration. Even if his newest stuff hasn't been all that great, the early to mid '90s saw him working at the peak of his songwriting powers. Really.
