6. Tom Furse
electronica/trip hop/psychedelic house http://youtu.be/9CmYi-XAUWs Tom Furse, formerly Tomethy Furse, or Tom Cowan to his mam, might be most familiar to most for his day job; said day job being a member of the constantly-colour-changing chameleons that are The Horrors. The five piece are currently priming their long awaited new album, but never knowingly not keeping himself busy (he's previously had a side project with fellow Horror Rhys Webb in the shape Spider and The Flies who you should listen to), he's recently been unveiling solo tracks to the world via his SoudCloud. Chameleons as he and his band mates are, the sound Furse is sporting on his solo tracks might be more out of left field than usual for most. However, anyone with the remixes he's been doing for some time will see this as a clear evolution. Sprawling, ambient, hypnotic, loose, and flowing, the tracks take in tastes of hip hop, spaced out electronica, super subdued acid house, and Screamadelica-era Primal Scream, to name but a few flavours.
