15 Awesome Albums To Put Down Cynics Of 21st Century Music

12. The Libertines - Up The Bracket - 2002

The Libertines Before Peter Doherty was associated with drugs, Kate Moss, and the paparazzi, he was part of the London based band The Libertines. In the wake of The Strokes' game changing album 'Is This It', the NME needed a British counterpart, and pulled Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell into the spotlight. Thank God they did. The Libs debut, 'Up the Bracket' is a Indie fan's dream, and was one of the first of many game changing British Indie band's to emerge in the early 21st century. With songs that echoed their infamous Guerrilla gigs, and devil may care attitude, The Libertines had a lasting effect on the British music scene. While their time as a band may have been short, their legacy lives on.
