15 Best Hard Rock & Metal Albums Of 2020 (So Far)
3. High Risk Behaviour - The Chats
Punk rock has had a unique lifespan to say the least. Since the Ramones' initial start in the late 70's, there has been genres from post punk to pop punk to new wave to grunge that have all taken the building blocks of the genre and spun into something new and exciting. Each of those genres had their fair share of great tunes, but The Chats are a great example of why punk rock is so intriguing in the first place.
Instead of being put through the pop punk lens like a lot of other acts, these guys are a straightforward punk affair, with songs that deal with the same ne'er do well behavior on songs like "Identity Theft" and "The Clap." Though most of the songs are great on their own, what really brings them to another level is the vocals from Eamon Sandwith. With his snide shout, the dude takes all the confidence of Liam Gallagher and adds just the slightest trace of someone like Lemmy to make these songs feel monumental.
This album may not break as much new ground as other records on this list, but for any hard rocker this is a must-listen. At just under a half hour, High Risk Behaviour is just the kind of recklessness that is needed in rock today.
