15 Greatest Pop Punk Albums Of The 2000s
10. New Found Glory - Catalyst
Some would rightfully argue that Jordan Pundnik's vocals pushed the limits of just how whiny and nasal a pop punk singer could sound while still maintaining marketability beyond pre-teens.
On their earlier offerings, New Found Glory came off as a band that could very well be your friends who got together to make an album just for you. That's the quality that made their self-titled 2000 album such an endearing listen.
And while those first three albums contain their best individual songs ("Hit or Miss," "Head On Collision," "Dressed To Kill"), it wasn't until their fourth album that New Found Glory figured out the perfect recipe for balancing out their upbeat, flittering punk with a thicker undercoat.
They didn't completely abandon their shimmering, lilting guitar riffs, they simply laid it over something more muscular. The result is a top-to-bottom serving of fist-pumping, anthemic pop punk.
