Bruce Springsteen has released 18 studio albums, several 'best of' compliations, live albums and just about everything else. There is no shortage of Bruce material out there for you to enjoy. But there is so much more of it, in some vault somewhere, that has never seen the light of day. Alternate takes, demos and never-before-heard songs are out there somewhere and Springsteen fans know it and have been pestering Bruce to release it for years. Bruce acquiesced in 1998 when he released Tracks, a four disc 66 song box set of new material. For some fans, the songs on Tracks are even more impressive than a lot of his studio output. The Promise, an album of out-takes from the Darkness On The Edge Of Town recordings followed and was met with similar acclaim. We're sure more sets like these will be released one day but, for Springsteen fans, one day is too far away. We want it now.
