15 Things Only KISS Fans Will Understand

14. Remaining Loyal To The KISS Army

The KISS Army was started in 1975 by fans Bill Starkey and Jay Evans, and it has gone through several incarnations since. Started as a protest against a radio station that refused to play KISS songs, it's now the name of the band's official fan group. While its connections to the band now offers the benefit of perks for members, the Army was probably a stronger indication of fan dedication back when it was unofficial and fan-led. KISS were always full of amazement at the dedication of members of the Army, hence their eventual promotion of it, and the Starkey/Evans-led group remains one of the strongest examples of how devoted the band's fans really are. Real KISS fans continue to sign up for the KISS Army, taking advantage of the member exclusives and showing their love for their iconic idols.
