15 Things Only Pearl Jam Fans Will Understand
Ten Club members unite.
Grunge, as a genre, may have died a long time ago, but one of its most recognisable bands continues to go from strength to strength. Almost twenty give years since their inception, Pearl Jam are still regularly selling out arenas and headlining festivals. It wasn't meant to be this way, however: frontman Eddie Vedder purposefully tried to slow his own ascent to superstardom, doing everything he could to avoid the magazine covers, billboards and talk show appearances.
They didn't necessarily want to be famous but, based on the strength of their music, they couldn't help but succeed, gaining a massive following in the process. Indeed, many bands can boast huge fan followings, but few rival Pearl Jam's dedicate, almost cult like, audience. To them, the nineties never really ended, ripped flannel shirts and denim jackets are still in vogue, and Pearl Jam are still the greatest band on earth.
Pearl Jam's fans know the lyrics to every song, regardless of how obscure, travel around the world to see the band perform in different countries and some even have Stickman tattooed on their skin. So, Ten Club members, put on your best black t-shirt, get out your original vinyl copy of Vitalogy and join us for 15 Things Only Pearl Jam Fans (that's you!) Will Understand.
