1. He Wants His Fans To Be Themselves - What Is "Normal", Anyway?
Skrillex's DIY approach and punk rock ethos have meant that he is a firm believer in being himself, and refusing to hide behind some fake celebrity image in order to seem cooler or more fashionable. He doesn't like being "overexposed" and he isn't interested in "recognition". It's all about the music for him. As he says, "I don't like hype cluttering art." In the same way, he loves his fans the way they are and wants them to believe in themselves. He hates the idea of "normal", because it implies that one way of behaving or self-styling is better than others. His fans should express themselves in whatever way they see fit. Perhaps this is inspired by the fact that he has spent his life in many different crowds, particularly the metal/emo scene and the EDM culture. So get yourself along to a Skrillex gig and dress as you usually would. Be yourself, and you'll enjoy yourself far more - and Skrillex will respect you far more for it. Oh, and don't eat too much beforehand. Those psychotic basslines don't sit well with a heavy meal!
