18 Things Only Alter Bridge Fans Will Understand

13. ...And His Performance In Rock Star Owned That Movie

Perhaps you've not seen the Mark Wahlberg-fronted rom-com-with-Zakk Wylde that is 2001's Rock Star? It's a flick that centres around Wahlberg's character Chris 'Izzy' Cole as he becomes the frontman of supergroup Steel Dragon (comprised of Zakk, Jason Bonham, Jeff Pilson and Dominic West) before crashing and burning out from touring too much.

Come that fateful last gig and the closing few scenes of the movie, Izzy decides to hand over frontman duties to an overenthusiastic crowd member, and who does it turn out to be? A very young and ridiculously-excited Myles Kennedy of course!

Calling himself Thor he grabs the mic and the pair have sing-off, leading to a fun song-fact for Alter fans everywhere; although Wahlberg's vocals were actually dubbed by Steelheart's Milijenko Matijevic, Myles' high-notes are all his own, lasting for an age before being overtaken by a screaming Zakk Wylde solo.

But of course they were, it's Myles.

12. As Epic As Slash Feat. Myles Is...We Don't Want Him To Leave

Like when a loved one goes on vacation for a few months (or years) and you pine after them just awaiting their retur....is that too strong? Probably. But - and this is for the longtime fans - don't deny yourself that feeling of missing Mr. Kennedy when he's off slaying stadiums worldwide, it's only natural.

The millions of fans from either the Alter or Slash camp back in 2010 suitably lost their respective sanities when they heard that not only was Myles lending his angelic tone to Slash's first solo album, but The Man in the Hat had asked him along for a full tour. It goes without saying that with two of the most humble artists in the business working together, it was a hard rock fan's dream.

Seeing Slash turn Myles from our loveable nervous frontman into a household name (and something of a sex icon - seriously, Myles-obsessives exist in their tens of thousands) still makes us well up with pride, but that unmistakable feeling when he's back recording with the band again? There's just no place like home.
